Removing Compliments, Complaints or Comments
Does EC ever remove compliments, comments or complaints?
Not very often. But there are certain situations in which EC will remove a post if it doesn't follow the Site Use Agreement. Here are a few examples:
- Profile owners shouldn’t arbitrarily compliment their own businesses or complain about their competitors, and users shouldn't comment on their current or former employers. This is prohibited conduct.
- Compliments (positive or negative) must be based upon your first hand experience, not someone else’s. You can’t post a complaint about XYZ plumbing because your cousin’s neighbor’s aunt supposedly had a leaky faucet after the plumber’s visit.
- Making personal attacks or being harassing, using hate speech or repeatedly and maliciously slandering a profile will not be tolerated. Such acts and/or comments will not only be removed, but the user posting them will likely be banned from the site.
- Content that does not relate to the core business or service of the profile should be avoided. Such a compliment (positive or negative) does not comply with the Site Use Agreement and is grounds for removal.
- Stealing other people’s content is not allowed.
