Visitors vs. registered login account holders
Any site visitor can search and find the good on the EC site without any kind of registration. However, only people who register, i.e. create a login account, with a valid email address and then verify the registration by clicking on a link within an email sent to that email address will be able to post comments of any kind.
Why should I create a login account with eCompliments? How do I do this?
Creating a login account with eCompliments allows you to create, claim or modify a Listing for yourself or your company. Once you've created or claimed a Listing, it allows you to be considered in the user rankings, eComplimeter scoring calculations, and post compliments in your name and keep record of those associated with your Listing.
Creating a login account with eCompliments is simple. Click the “Login” button at the top of any page. (2) Fill out the simple form and submit. (3) Click on the link in the confirmation email we will send you.
Once you have a login account, you can also create or claim a Listing.
I already have a Listing on your site. How did it get there?
Most every business listed in the phone book already has an existing profile on eCompliments. In addition, our team is adding thousands of profiles each week.
I don't see a Listing for me (or my company). How do I create a Listing on your site?
If you don't already have a login account, create one (see How-to above). Once you have a login, you can create a new Listing by clicking on the "Sign Up" button at the top of any screen. Select the Listing level you prefer, then click Register. Login. If you selected the Free Listing, you will simply fill out the Listing form. If you chose the Professional version, you wil also need to provide credit card information.
Why should I claim my Listing on eCompliments? How do I do this?
Claiming your Listing is important because it gives you access to what is being shared about you or your company. You can’t utilize all of the free features your Listing has to offer without first claiming it. Claiming a Listing is simple. Find your Listing in the system. Click the red “claim this record” hyperlink and follow the instructions on the page. It will only take a few short minutes to tell us who you are and how to get in touch with you to verify that it is your Listing.
Can I have more than one Login Account or Listing attached to my email address?
No, only one login or Listing can be assigned to any email address.
What if I have three businesses that I own? Can they all be controlled by one login?
No. You will need to create individual login accounts for each business, complete with unique email addresses. You can then claim or setup new Listings for each of your businesses.
How do I verify my account?
When you've completed the registration process, you will receive an email with a special link. Click it to verify your login account. When the verification message arrives in your email in-box, click the verification link, or copy and paste it into your browser. Your login account will be verified at this point.
How do I change my login account information?
When you first login to your account, you will see a Edit Login link that allows you to edit your login information.
How do I change my email address?
From your Login page, you can change your email address and password by clicking the blue text that says "Edit Login" and going to Tab 1 – Login.
How do I change my Listing information
Once you have successfully claimed or created a Listing, you will have access to your Listing settings, categories, etc. from your My Account page when you first login.
What is a favorite and how do you add one?
A favorite is a profile of your favorite (you fill in the blank). It could be your favorite dry cleaners, attorney, happy hour spot, financial advisor, or resort destination. You can list any Listing that you find on EC as your favorite.
Registered Users can add any profile as a "MyFavorite" Listing to create a list of their favorite things in the world. The Listing that is publicly available is the one that is linked to the MyFavorite list.
